Lab Assistant Technician – Chemical Water Treatment Facility

Location: Fort Myers, FL
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Pay: $22.00–$26.00/hour (Based on Experience)

 

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Lab Assistant Technician to support our Senior Chemist in a fast-paced chemical water treatment facility. This role focuses on method repetition, data collection, and protocol validation while working collaboratively with a team dedicated to water quality testing.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable in both laboratory and office settings, with strong documentation skills and the ability to follow procedures with a high degree of accuracy.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Perform electrochemistry procedures with a high level of accuracy, following established protocols
• Document findings thoroughly through written records and electronic data files
• Analyze results and identify variables or changes between procedures
• Communicate findings to the Senior Chemist and R&D team for review and improvement
• Prepare chemical solutions as needed
• Maintain strict adherence to laboratory safety standards and report compliance needs
• Perform basic data processing and arithmetic calculations
• Utilize Microsoft Teams and OneDrive for documentation and collaboration
• Participate in team meetings to discuss results and project updates
• Provide support to team members on related lab tasks and projects

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent documentation and organizational skills
• Basic math and data entry proficiency
• Ability to think critically and identify inconsistencies in results
• Comfortable working in a laboratory environment
• Strong communication skills and ability to work within a team
• Proficient with computer systems and Microsoft Office Suite

Education Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required

Physical Requirements

• Frequent walking, talking, and hearing
• Occasional standing, sitting, and use of hands for handling materials
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds as needed
• Vision requirements include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
