Optical Technician

Location: Longmont, CO
Schedule: Sat and Sun 2pm – 10pm  Mon 6 hour PM shift

Payrate: $23/hr +1.25 shift differential = $24.25/hr

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain vacuum coating equipment for optical thin films
• Load/unload equipment and handle fragile optical components
• Perform spectrophotometer scans and optical metrology (interferometry, inspection)
• Troubleshoot vacuum systems and support production processes
• Maintain cleanroom standards and manage consumable inventory
• Follow, document, and help improve manufacturing procedures
• Process work orders in ERP and adhere to all safety guidelines

Qualifications:

• Manufacturing experience preferred (optics experience a plus)
• Familiarity with cleanroom, ESD, and microscope inspection techniques preferred
• Strong attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive, precision tasks
• Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, email)
• Organized, dependable, and team-oriented with good communication skills

Requirements:

Must be eligible as a “U.S. Person” under ITAR/EAR regulations (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or approved status).

Physical Demands:

• Extended sitting, bending, and fine motor use
• Hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
• Ability to operate equipment and handle delicate components
• Light exposure to cleaning chemicals (alcohol, acetone)
