Electrical Engineer

Location: Chemung County, NY
Schedule: Day Shift
Salary: $80,000–$110,000 per year (depending on experience)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support automation, controls, and electrical system design within an industrial manufacturing environment. This role will be responsible for developing, troubleshooting, and improving electrical and control systems to support production efficiency and reliability.

The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, hands-on problem-solving skills, and the ability to work across multiple disciplines including automation, controls, and mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain electrical control systems for manufacturing equipment
• Program and troubleshoot PLCs and automation systems
• Create and modify electrical schematics, panel layouts, and system designs
• Support HMI development and system integration
• Troubleshoot electrical and control issues on production equipment
• Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and operations teams to improve system performance
• Assist with installation, startup, and commissioning of new equipment
• Ensure systems meet safety standards and operational requirements
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to automation and controls

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10+ years of electrical engineering experience required
• Strong experience with PLC programming and automation systems
• Familiarity with platforms such as Allen-Bradley, Studio 5000, RSLogix, and FactoryTalk
• Experience working with industrial electrical systems (480V, 240V, 120V, 24VDC, 4–20mA)
• Knowledge of motors, drives (VFDs), transformers, and servo systems
• Experience with industrial networking protocols (Ethernet/IP, TCP/IP)
• Background in controls engineering, including panel design, schematics, and sensors
• Working knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and automated equipment
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or AutoCAD Electrical
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel
