Outside Sales Representative

Location: Corning, NY
Schedule: Day shift
Pay: $25–$35 per hour (depending on experience) hourly rate only during training period and then commission plus hourly earned once selling on your own.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Outside Sales Representative to promote residential mechanical products and related repair and upgrade services. This role focuses on developing new business, maintaining client relationships, and identifying opportunities for equipment replacement, system improvements, and service agreements.

The ideal candidate will bring prior sales experience along with a solid understanding of residential mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Generate new business through prospecting, networking, and community engagement
• Meet with homeowners to assess needs and recommend equipment or system upgrades
• Promote repair services, preventative maintenance programs, and replacement options
• Prepare estimates, proposals, and follow-up communications
• Maintain strong relationships with existing customers to encourage repeat business and referrals
• Track sales activity, pipeline progress, and customer interactions
• Collaborate with internal service and installation teams to ensure smooth project execution
• Stay informed on product offerings, pricing updates, and industry trends

Required Qualifications

• Previous outside sales experience required
• Working knowledge of residential mechanical systems
• Ability to explain technical products and services in clear, customer-friendly language
• Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and closing skills
• Self-motivated with the ability to manage time and territory effectively
• Valid driver’s license
