Pay Rate: $17.00 per hour

Shift: 3rd Shift
Schedule: Sunday–Thursday
Hours: 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM

We are seeking a detail-oriented Precision Grinding Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team on 3rd shift. In this role, you will operate precision grinding equipment to produce high-quality components that meet tight tolerances and strict surface finish requirements. This position requires strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and a strong commitment to safety and quality standards.

Job Summary

The Precision Grinding Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining grinding machines that remove material from metal parts using abrasive grinding wheels. The process requires achieving fine tolerances and smooth surface finishes while following ISO quality standards, safety procedures, and production requirements.

This role involves frequent bending, twisting, turning, and lifting up to 40 lbs. Physical demands and shift schedules may vary.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely load and unload raw materials into precision grinding machinery
• Operate grinding equipment to achieve required part dimensions, tolerances, and surface finishes
• Monitor machines and respond to malfunctions following ISO and company safety procedures
• Use precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to verify part quality
• Adjust grinding wheels, work holding fixtures, and machine settings based on inspection results
• Perform wheel dressing, wear adjustments, and tool changes as required
• Inspect first run, last run, and in-process parts to ensure compliance with specifications
• Read and interpret blueprints, inspection documents, and production reports
• Record production data, quality results, and any irregularities in logs and reports
• Maintain equipment cleanliness and perform basic maintenance, including lubricants and coolant checks
• Support high-mix, low-volume production with repetitive part processing
• Follow all company, OSHA, EPA, and internal safety and operational standards
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing practices
• Communicate professionally with internal teams and external customers as needed

Qualifications

• Experience in machine operation, grinding, machining, or manufacturing preferred
• Ability to use precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
• Ability to read technical documents, blueprints, and inspection reports
• Comfortable performing repetitive tasks in a fast-paced production environment
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks
