Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Accounts Receivable Collections person to resolve outstanding debt from our client portfolio. This Will involve outbound calls and emails to customers with overdue accounts and investigating and resolving billing disputes.  The position is part-time at about 25 hours a week.

 

Core Responsibilities

• Collections Outreach: Conducting high-volume outbound calls and sending emails to customers with overdue accounts to secure payment and negotiate repayment plans.
• Portfolio Management: Monitoring and maintaining an assigned portfolio of accounts, reviewing weekly aging reports to prioritize collection efforts.
• Dispute Resolution: Investigating and resolving billing discrepancies, disputed charges, or insurance claim denials in a professional manner.
• Payment Processing: Accurately posting and reconciling customer payments—including ACH, wire transfers, and credit cards—against open invoices in the ERP system.
• Account Maintenance: Updating customer records with accurate contact information, payment status, and detailed documentation of all collection activities.

Required Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED is often the minimum requirement, though many employers prefer an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business administration.
• Experience:  2–5 years of experience in corporate collections or accounts receivable.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, V-lookups, macros) 
• Soft Skills: Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to maintain professional customer relationships while enforcing payment terms.
