Job Summary: Responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment and facility systems to ensure safe and efficient operations. This role requires strong mechanical ability, reliability, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
•
Assist with routine maintenance and repairs on production equipment, including hooping machines, stave processing equipment, and conveyors.
•
Perform preventative maintenance tasks such as lubrication, cleaning, inspections, and minor adjustments
•
Troubleshoot basic mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues under supervision
•
Support in diagnosing and repairing equipment failures
•
Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) and proper use of PPE
•
Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
•
Assist with installation of new equipment or upgrades as needed
•
Document completed work and report ongoing issues to management
Qualifications
Required:
•
Must be dependable with consistent attendance and punctuality
•
Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
•
Ability to use hand tools and basic power tools
•
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
•
Must be able to take direction and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
•
Willingness to work in a manufacturing environment (heat, noise, dust, etc.)
•
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
•
Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces when required
Preferred:
•
Technical school training or coursework in industrial maintenance, electrical, or mechanical fields
•
Basic understanding of motors, bearings, belts, chains, and gearboxes
•
Familiarity with industrial safety practices (LOTO, confined space, etc.)
•
Experience with forklifts or industrial equipment (or willingness to be trained)
•
Industrial manufacturing setting with exposure to wood dust, noise, and moving machinery
•
May require overtime, weekends, or on-call work depending on production needs
