Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Inspector I to join our team. This is an entry-level opportunity ideal for someone looking to build a career in quality assurance within a manufacturing environment.

In this role, you will support inspection activities for incoming, in-process, and finished products, ensuring all items meet established quality standards and specifications. You will also be responsible for accurate documentation and reporting of inspection results.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections under supervision
• Utilize standard inspection tools such as calipers, microscopes, and gauges
• Follow work instructions, inspection plans, and technical drawings
• Accurately record inspection results in real time (paper and/or system-based)
• Verify required documentation such as material certifications and COCs
• Identify and report nonconforming materials or conditions
• Assist in segregation and labeling of nonconforming products
• Maintain organized and accurate quality records
• Communicate quality concerns clearly to appropriate personnel
• Support additional quality-related tasks such as data entry and document review
• Follow all safety guidelines, quality procedures, and company standards
• Participate in training and cross-training initiatives
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of inspection tools and measurement concepts (or willingness to learn)
• Ability to read and interpret basic drawings and instructions
• Strong attention to detail
• Basic math skills (fractions, decimals, unit conversions)
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, data entry, PDFs)
• Ability to work both independently and within a team environment

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Manufacturing environment with moderate noise levels
• Regularly required to walk, bend, stoop, kneel, sit, and use hands for inspection activities
• Ability to lift and/or move materials up to 50–100 lbs as needed
• Exposure to a production setting with standard safety requirements
• Vision requirements include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus
