Quality Leader Summary
The Quality Assurance (QA) Leader supports the Quality Assurance Manager by overseeing food safety, sanitation, and regulatory compliance throughout the facility. This hands-on leadership role supervises QA Technicians, manages day-to-day quality systems, and serves as the Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI). The QA Leader works closely with production and laboratory teams to ensure products meet internal standards, customer requirements, and regulatory expectations.

Job Duties:
- Serve as PCQI, reviewing and approving production records and product release documentation
- Ensure compliance with cGMPs, HACCP, and all applicable food safety regulations
- Maintain and manage Quality Management Systems, including GMPs, allergen control, pest control, sanitation programs, environmental monitoring, and internal audits
- Oversee food safety certifications such as SQF, Gluten-Free, Organic, Kosher, and other customer-required programs
- Coordinate finished goods release by verifying test results, documentation, and certificates of analysis/compliance
- Ensure lab equipment is calibrated and supplies are maintained
- Lead internal audits, track corrective actions, and verify completion
- Write, revise, and maintain SOPs, SSOPs, and controlled QA documentation.
Requirements:
- Strong working knowledge of cGMPs and food safety regulations
- HACCP and PCQI certification required
- Minimum of 3 years of QA experience in a food manufacturing or regulated environment
- Prior supervisory or team leadership experience preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); ERP experience a plus
- Excellent organization, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field preferred.
