Position Summary

A well-established industrial fabrication company in the Baker, Louisiana area is seeking an experienced Water Jet Operator to join its production team. This role is critical to precision cutting operations involving corrosion-resistant and specialty materials. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and experienced with water jet cutting equipment in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor CNC water jet cutting equipment
• Read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and job travelers
• Measure and inspect finished parts to ensure dimensional accuracy and quality standards
• Perform routine machine maintenance, cleaning, and troubleshooting
• Select appropriate cutting parameters (pressure, abrasive flow, feed rates)
• Handle materials safely, including stainless steel and other corrosion-resistant alloys
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-compliant work area
• Work collaboratively with supervisors, engineers, and other shop personnel

Required Qualifications

• Previous experience operating industrial water jet cutting machines
• Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, tape measures)
• Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
• Dependable attendance and strong work ethic

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with corrosion-resistant materials or industrial fabrication
• CNC programming or CAD experience
• Forklift or overhead crane experience (or willingness to be trained)
