Job Title: Community Education Coordinator
Pay Rate: $18–$21/hour

Job Summary:
We are seeking an outgoing, dependable Community Education Coordinator to support public education initiatives focused on civic engagement and voter awareness. This role is responsible for coordinating and participating in outreach events, delivering educational presentations, and fostering strong partnerships within the community. The ideal candidate is comfortable engaging with diverse audiences and thrives in a dynamic, public-facing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent the organization at community events, schools, and local organizations as a professional ambassador
  • Deliver educational presentations on elections, voting processes, and voter rights to students, community groups, and the public
  • Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing outreach events, including voter education presentations and registration initiatives
  • Facilitate activities such as mock elections, straw polls, and student engagement programs
  • Support recruitment, coordination, and basic training of part-time event staff as needed
  • Set up, transport, and break down outreach materials and equipment
  • Maintain accurate records of outreach activities, participation, and program data
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with schools, community organizations, and local stakeholders
  • Provide support and guidance during early voting periods and on Election Day, as needed
  • Gather feedback and report on outreach effectiveness and community engagement

Requirements:

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • 2+ years of experience in community outreach, education, training, customer service, or public engagement preferred
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage both individuals and groups
  • Comfortable working in public settings and interacting with diverse populations
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, adapt to changing priorities, and work independently
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Publisher)
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
  • Flexible schedule, including availability for evenings and weekends
  • Ability to lift and transport materials up to 50 pounds
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in government, nonprofit, or civic engagement environments
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus

Work Environment:
This role involves frequent travel to off-site locations and participation in both indoor and outdoor events. Responsibilities may include extended periods of standing, walking, and lifting equipment, and occasional exposure to varying weather conditions.
