Job Summary

We are seeking a customer-focused and dependable Counter Sales / Customer Service Representative to join our HVAC distribution team in Billerica, MA. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with customers, supporting contractors, and providing product knowledge in a fast-paced supply house environment. The ideal candidate will deliver excellent customer service while assisting with sales, order processing, and inventory support.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet customers at the sales counter and provide exceptional customer service
• Assist HVAC contractors and customers with product selection and order placement
• Process sales transactions accurately using POS or ERP systems
• Answer phones, respond to customer inquiries, and provide pricing and availability
• Pull, stage, and organize orders for pickup or delivery
• Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure timely order fulfillment
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional counter area
• Handle returns, credits, and warranty-related inquiries
• Support inside sales and branch operations as needed

Qualifications & Requirements

• Previous counter sales, customer service, or inside sales experience preferred
• HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or industrial distribution experience strongly preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn inventory/order systems
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs as needed
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
• Ability to work Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Work Environment

• HVAC supply house / distribution center
• Regular interaction with contractors and walk-in customers
• Combination of counter, warehouse, and light material handling duties
