Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Line Technician to install, maintain, and repair overhead and underground electrical or utility lines. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with line work, safety procedures, and equipment operation to ensure reliable service and quick restoration during outages.


Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect, install, maintain, and repair electrical or utility lines (overhead and underground)
  • Respond to emergency outages and perform timely line repairs
  • Climb poles, operate bucket trucks, and work at heights safely
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized line equipment
  • Read and interpret diagrams, blueprints, and schematics for proper installation and repair
  • Test lines and equipment to identify faults and ensure functionality
  • Follow all safety protocols and OSHA/utility safety standards
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and job documentation

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in line work, electrical maintenance, or utility repair
  • Ability to work at heights and in varied weather conditions
  • Knowledge of electrical systems, transformers, and related equipment
  • Experience with bucket trucks, digger derricks, and hand tools
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Physically fit and able to lift heavy equipment, climb poles, and work long hours

Preferred Qualifications

  • Journeyman or Apprentice Line Technician certification
  • CDL license preferred
  • Experience with underground line installation and fiber optics
  • Familiarity with safety equipment: gloves, harnesses, hot sticks, and insulated tools

Work Environment

  • Outdoor work in all weather conditions
  • Exposure to high voltage and physically demanding tasks
  • May require night, weekend, or emergency on-call response

Compensation & Schedule

  • $20 - 23/hr
