We are hiring a Layout/Assembler for a growing structural steel fabrication company in DeForest, WI. This role is ideal for someone with prior experience in structural steel layout who takes pride in precision, accuracy, and hands-on fabrication work. You’ll play a key role in preparing and assembling steel components used in a variety of framed structures.

Pay: $26/hour

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Job Responsibilities:

• Identify and organize structural steel components for assembly based on work orders
• Perform layout of parts on steel using tape measures, squares, and layout tools
• Mark and position materials to ensure accurate fit-up prior to assembly or welding
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and cut sheets to determine specifications
• Align and assemble components according to layout markings and production requirements
• Verify measurements and ensure all parts meet quality and dimensional standards
• Collaborate with welders and fabrication team members to support workflow
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area

Requirements:

• Previous experience in structural steel layout required
• Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings
• Proficiency using tape measures, squares, and other layout tools
• Solid understanding of fit-up and assembly processes in a steel fabrication environment
• High attention to detail and accuracy in measurements and markings
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
