Duties
- Set up and operate turret punch presses, ensuring accurate punching of sheet metal according to detailed blueprints and technical specifications
- Program CNC turret punch machines for complex patterns, utilizing CNC programming skills to optimize production runs
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to verify dimensional accuracy and quality standards
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and technical documents to ensure precise fabrication
- Maintain and troubleshoot equipment including CNC laser cutters, plasma cutters, press brakes, CNC lathes, milling machines, welding stations, and electrical discharge machining tools
- Use hand tools and fabrication equipment for minor adjustments or assembly tasks as needed
- Operate forklifts and cranes safely to move raw materials or finished parts within the workspace
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in manufacturing processes such as stamping, machining, welding, and sheet metal fabrication
- Proficiency in CNC programming for turret punch presses and familiarity with CNC laser cutting, plasma cutting, CNC milling machines, and CNC lathes
- Ability to read blueprints accurately and interpret technical drawings with GD&T specifications
- Skilled in the use of precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and other quality inspection tools
- Knowledge of tooling setup, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting for various manufacturing equipment
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and quality checks
- Experience operating forklifts, cranes, hand tools, and other mechanical equipment safely and efficiently
- Understanding of safety protocols related to machining operations and material handling
