We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Material Handler Lead to oversee and coordinate all aspects of materials handling within our warehouse operations. This pivotal role combines leadership, process optimization, and hands-on materials management to ensure smooth, efficient distribution and inventory control. As a Material Handler Lead, you will guide a team of warehouse associates, implement process improvements, and uphold safety standards to support our logistics and e-commerce fulfillment goals. Your expertise will drive operational excellence and foster a collaborative environment focused on accuracy, safety, and continuous improvement.

 

 

Duties

• Lead and supervise warehouse team members in daily materials handling activities, including shipping, receiving, inventory management, and heavy lifting tasks.
• Oversee inventory control processes using warehouse management systems to ensure accurate stock levels and order fulfillment.
• Manage warehouse distribution operations, coordinating with logistics providers, and internal departments to optimize shipping and receiving workflows.
• Conduct regular process reviews to identify areas for improvement; implement best practices for materials handling, process efficiency, and safety compliance.
• Operate forklifts and mechanical equipment safely to move heavy or bulky items while adhering to OSHA standards.
• Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions, shipment documentation, and inbound/outbound logs; ensure compliance with safety protocols.
• Support team development through training in warehouse procedures, OSHA regulations, mechanical knowledge, and warehouse management systems.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in warehouse operations with a strong background in inventory management, shipping & receiving, and materials handling.
• Prior leadership or supervisory experience as a warehouse supervisor or team lead is highly preferred.
• Valid forklift certification along with mechanical knowledge for operating heavy equipment safely.
• Strong understanding of OSHA safety standards related to heavy lifting, materials handling, and warehouse safety protocols.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while fostering teamwork.
• Physical capability for heavy lifting and standing for extended periods; comfort working in fast-paced environments.
