Braze Technician – Manufacturing

Location: Manchester, CT

Pay rate: $20-23/hr

Type: Full-time | 1st shift, 8 am to 4:30 pm

 

The Braze Technician is responsible for performing precision brazing operations on metal components using torch, furnace, or induction brazing techniques. This role plays a critical part in ensuring strong, leak-free, and durable joints as part of our high-quality manufacturing process.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform brazing of metal components according to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Operate brazing equipment, including torches, furnaces, or induction machines.
  • Inspect joints for proper bonding, cleanliness, and tolerance using appropriate measurement tools.
  • Clean and prepare parts prior to and after brazing (e.g., deburring, flux application, post-braze cleaning).
  • Follow detailed work instructions, safety procedures, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality teams on process improvements.
  • Maintain accurate records of production, inspections, and materials used.
  • Ensure tools and workstations are kept clean, calibrated, and organized.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or vocational training in welding/brazing a plus.
  • 1-2 years of experience in brazing, soldering, or related thermal joining processes.
  • Familiarity with blueprint reading, brazing symbols, and quality documentation (e.g., ISO, AS9100, or similar standards).
  • Ability to work independently and with precision in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with copper, stainless steel, brass, or aluminum brazing preferred.
  • Knowledge of safety practices related to high-heat and metalworking environments.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment involving heat and machinery.
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for handling small parts and precise tools.
