Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused Structural Welder to join our clients team. This role is responsible for welding structural steel components used in construction projects. The ideal candidate has strong experience with structural welding processes, can read blueprints, and takes pride in producing high-quality, code-compliant work.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform structural welding using processes such as MIG, Flux-Cored (FCAW), and Stick (SMAW)
• Weld steel components including beams, columns, and supports per specifications
• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and welding symbols
• Ensure all welds meet applicable codes
• Set up, operate, and maintain welding equipment
• Measure, cut, and prepare materials prior to welding
• Inspect completed welds for accuracy, quality, and structural integrity
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment
• Work collaboratively with fitters, fabricators, and supervisors

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in structural welding (or equivalent training)
• Proficiency in FCAW and/or SMAW welding processes
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols
• Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship
• Ability to pass a welding test and/or certification if required
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift 50+ lbs regularly
• Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in physically demanding environments
• Comfortable working at heights and in varying weather conditions
• Ability to wear required PPE including helmet, gloves and safety gear
