Express Employment Professionals is partnering with a Landscape Company located in Olympia, WA, to fill a Pesticide Applicator role. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to join a growing team in a fast-paced, mission-driven, innovative company.

This position is Evaluation-to-Hire / Direct Hire with a consistent schedule of Day Shift with the option to work 4/ 10-hour shifts or 5/ 8-hour shifts. Compensation starts at $25.00-$35.00+/hr DOE, with a full benefits package upon hire.

 

Position Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Pesticide Applicator specializing in weed control to join our landscaping team. This role is responsible for safely applying herbicides, maintaining landscape health, and ensuring compliance with all Washington State regulations. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-focused, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

 

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Apply herbicides and pesticides for weed control in residential and commercial landscapes
• Identify weeds, grasses, and plant health issues to determine proper treatment methods
• Mix and handle chemicals in accordance with label instructions and safety standards
• Operate spray equipment and machinery, including systems with up to a 300 ft hose
• Complete assigned routes and jobs efficiently while meeting daily and weekly deadlines
• Maintain and inspect equipment, tanks, and spray systems to ensure proper operation
• Follow all Washington State Department of Agriculture (WSDA) regulations and safety guidelines
• Monitor treated areas and evaluate effectiveness of applications, adjusting as needed
• Communicate professionally with clients regarding services performed and recommendations
• Keep accurate records of applications, chemicals used, and service reports
• Assist with general landscape maintenance tasks as needed
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas, including proper chemical storage and disposal

Requirements & Qualifications

• WSDA Pesticide Applicator License (Weed Control category required)
• Must have passed the Laws & Safety exam
• This is not a Structural Pest Control position
• Valid Washington State Driver’s License with a clean driving record
• Minimum 1 year of landscape maintenance experience
• Knowledge of weed control methods, herbicides, and safe application practices
• Ability to operate spray equipment and machinery confidently
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
• Strong attention to safety, detail, and compliance standards
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
• Teachable with a willingness to learn and grow
• Strong customer service and communication skills

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and crouch for extended periods
• Capable of handling hoses, spray equipment, and chemicals safely
• Ability to work on uneven terrain and large properties
