Payor Contracting Specialist (Remote)

Pay: $25.00-$28.00/hour

 

Job Summary:


The Payor Contracting Specialist performs a variety of administrative functions related to pharmacy contracts, credentialing forms, surveys, pharmacy requests and inquiries, as well as ongoing maintenance of departmental documents. This position is responsible for completing and tracking agreements, maintaining accurate records, providing reporting and auditing support, and identifying process improvements for optimal departmental outcomes. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently in a remote environment.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PDF software, and other management tools
  • Motivated to quickly learn and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Firm understanding of pharmacy contracting processes

Essential Functions:

  1. Complete new and renewing contract documents accurately and in a timely manner.
  2. Coordinate with management and other stakeholders on new payor contracts, including negotiations and rate validation when needed.
  3. Maintain departmental databases and demographic information for pharmacies and related contracts.
  4. Conduct ongoing follow-up and provide status updates on pending tasks.
  5. Communicate effectively with internal teams and external contacts.
  6. Complete and submit required contractual agreements and supporting documents.
  7. Ensure all contractual documents are properly recorded and saved according to company policies.
  8. Establish and maintain strong working relationships with external partners and internal departments.
  9. Demonstrate flexibility and openness to change for the betterment of the department.
  10. Assist with the development, maintenance, and enforcement of departmental policies and procedures.
  11. Follow direction with minimal supervision and apply knowledge to new situations.
  12. Promptly report any allegations of impropriety to the appropriate department.
  13. Complete required training within established timeframes.
  14. Maintain regular attendance and reliability.
  15. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to sit, stand, bend, lift, and move intermittently throughout the day.
  • Must be able to speak and communicate clearly in English.
  • Must possess adequate sight and hearing abilities, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be able to function independently, maintain flexibility, and work effectively with others.

  • Remote work environment with frequent communication through phone, email, and virtual meetings
