Automotive Mechanical Design Engineer – Aluminum Castings

Schedule: First Shift | 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Job Summary:
We are hiring an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with a strong background in automotive aluminum castings to join our team in Saint Marys, Ohio. This role is ideal for candidates with hands-on experience in mechanical engineering, product design, and manufacturing processes who are looking to grow their career in the automotive industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop automotive aluminum cast components for production and prototyping
• Create and modify CAD models, 3D designs, and detailed engineering drawings
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and engineering teams to ensure product success
• Analyze designs for performance, durability, and cost efficiency
• Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and engineering best practices

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field
• 3–5+ years of experience in mechanical design, manufacturing, or automotive engineering
• Experience with aluminum casting design highly preferred
• Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, CATIA, or similar)
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in automotive component design
• Familiarity with DFMEA, GD&T, and APQP processes
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
