Shipping Lead (A2201)

Our client in Mentor, OH is seeking an experienced Shipping Lead to oversee daily shipping operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for coordinating shipments, supervising shipping personnel, ensuring accuracy of outgoing orders, and maintaining efficient workflow within the shipping department.

The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, leadership experience, and a solid background in shipping and warehouse operations within a manufacturing setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support the daily operations of the shipping department
• Coordinate outbound shipments to ensure orders are processed accurately and on schedule
• Supervise and assist shipping team members with packaging, labeling, and staging orders
• Verify shipping documentation, bills of lading, and order accuracy
• Coordinate with production, inventory, and logistics teams to ensure timely shipments
• Monitor workflow and assist with prioritizing orders based on deadlines
• Operate forklifts or other material handling equipment when needed
• Maintain organized shipping areas and ensure materials are staged properly
• Assist with loading and unloading trucks as necessary
• Ensure compliance with company safety procedures and shipping regulations
• Train and support team members as needed

Qualifications

• Previous experience in shipping, warehouse, or logistics operations
• Prior lead or supervisory experience preferred
• Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments strongly preferred
• Ability to operate forklifts or material handling equipment
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Basic computer skills for shipping documentation and tracking

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move materials throughout the shift
