Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Materials Planner & Production Scheduler to manage material availability and coordinate production planning activities. This role is responsible for ensuring the right materials are available at the right time to support efficient production, while optimizing inventory levels and minimizing waste. The ideal candidate excels at balancing demand, supply constraints, and production priorities in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities

Materials Planning:

  • Develop and maintain material requirements plans based on demand forecasts and production schedules
  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure optimal stock levels to prevent shortages or excess
  • Collaborate with Procurement to ensure timely ordering and delivery of raw materials and packaging
  • Track supplier performance and proactively address material availability risks
  • Manage planning parameters such as lead times, safety stock, and reorder points

Production Scheduling:

  • Create and manage daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules
  • Align production plans with demand forecasts, inventory targets, and capacity constraints
  • Coordinate with manufacturing teams and co-manufacturers to ensure schedule adherence
  • Adjust schedules as needed to respond to changes in demand, supply disruptions, or operational issues
  • Support new product launches with supply readiness and scheduling alignment

Data & Continuous Improvement:

  • Maintain accurate data in ERP/MRP systems to support planning activities
  • Analyze key metrics such as material availability, inventory turns, and schedule adherence
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance planning accuracy and efficiency

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 2–5 years of experience in materials planning, production scheduling, or supply chain planning
  • Experience in consumer packaged goods (CPG), food & beverage, or manufacturing preferred
  • Strong understanding of MRP/ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, basic analysis)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
