Soldering Technician

Job Summary:
Express Employment is seeking a detail-oriented SMT Soldering Technician to join a growing electronics assembly team. This role is responsible for high-precision hand soldering of surface mount components (resistors, capacitors, ICs) and performing delicate rework on complex printed circuit boards (PCBs).

Key Responsibilities:

• Precision Soldering: Perform high-quality hand soldering of SMT components using a microscope or magnification tools.
• Rework & Repair: Identify and correct soldering defects such as bridges, shorts, or cold joints; remove and replace damaged components using hot air tools.
• Quality Control: Inspect completed boards to ensure high-quality, defect-free results.
• Documentation: Interpret assembly drawings, schematics, and Bill of Materials (BOM) to ensure accurate component placement.
• ESD Safety: Maintain a static-safe workstation and follow all ESD-protected area (EPA) protocols.

Required Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of professional SMT hand soldering experience (fine-pitch component experience preferred).
• Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency with soldering irons, tweezers, flux, and hot air rework stations.
• Visual Acuity: Ability to work under a microscope for extended periods with excellent hand-eye coordination.
