Temp-to-Hire Maintenance Machining Technician
Note to Applicants: Interviews for this position are held at our Georgetown, KY office. However, the actual job site and daily work location is in Winchester, KY.
Pay Rate: $24.00 – $28.00 per hour
Schedule & Hours
- Regular Shift: 5:00 AM – 1:30 PM (Monday – Friday)
- Overtime: Must be available for alternate Saturdays.
- Training Period: First 3 months will be 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM.
Role Overview
This role focuses on keeping the production line running efficiently by handling machine setups, tool changes, and troubleshooting. You will act as a technical bridge between Engineering and Production, not only fixing issues but also training operators to handle minor technical tasks themselves.

Key Responsibilities
- Setups & Changeovers: Perform line changeovers and tool replacements quickly and accurately to reduce downtime and defects.
- Troubleshooting: Support the Production Department by solving machining and process issues as they arise.
- Tooling Management: Monitor tool life, perform periodic tool changes, and qualify "broaches" with the Quality Control team.
- Technical Assistance: Make minor edits to G-code programs and adjust machine parameters/set points.
- Quality & Maintenance: Ensure all gauges are calibrated and present; maintain a clean and organized workspace (5S).
- Training: Instruct Production Leaders and operators on how to perform changeovers and handle minor machine issues.
- Documentation: Audit production paperwork (Process Control Charts, Operation Sheets) for accuracy.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- 3 years of manufacturing experience (preferably with CNC equipment).
- Additional technical certifications or coursework is a plus.
Skills:
- Technical: Basic mechanical knowledge and a fundamental understanding of machine programming.
- Computer: Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, and Access).
- Soft Skills: Above-average communication (written and verbal) and a strong ability to teach/train others.
- Math: Strong reasoning and math skills.
Physical Demands
- Stamina: Ability to stand or remain stationary for 6–10 hours.
- Agility: Repeatedly bending, squatting, and moving arms above the head.
- Dexterity: Good hand strength and finger dexterity to handle small and large objects.
- Lifting: Must be able to lift at least 10 lbs.
Working Environment
- Located in a manufacturing plant with exposure to machines and chemicals.
- Safety First: Must strictly follow all safety rules, wear PPE, and maintain a safety-conscious attitude.
