Job Title: Electromechanical Engineer

Salary: $109,800-164,600 annually DOE

 

Position Summary:
We are seeking a hands-on, experienced mid-level Electromechanical Engineer to support the design, development, and ongoing operation of systems used in precision shutter manufacturing and assembly. This role is ideal for a self-starting engineer who thrives in a high-complexity production environment and is passionate about quality, safety, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and support electromechanical systems including motors, sensors, actuators, motion systems, and control components
  • Create and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings
  • Support prototyping, testing, and validation of new designs and equipment modifications
  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues in manufacturing, lab, and cleanroom environments
  • Support and improve production equipment used in inspection and process operations
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality, process engineering, and operations teams
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions (e.g., 5 Whys)
  • Develop and execute test plans for electromechanical systems
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including specifications and test reports
  • Support engineering change and controlled documentation processes
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and internal requirements
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and team problem-solving

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electromechanical, Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, Industrial, Process Engineering, or related field
  • 3–6 years of experience in electromechanical system design, support, or troubleshooting in manufacturing or lab environments
  • Experience with LabVIEW, SolidWorks, and PCB design
  • Familiarity with quality systems and tools such as root cause analysis (5 Whys)
  • Soldering experience or certification preferred

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong ability to read and create electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
  • Hands-on troubleshooting across electrical and mechanical systems
  • Knowledge of system integration, testing methods, and reliability engineering
  • Experience with tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, and programmable boards (e.g., Arduino)
  • Excellent documentation, communication, and organizational skills
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on safety, quality, and repeatability
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Adaptable and effective in a dynamic, fast-changing production environment
  • Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to mentor and share knowledge

Working Conditions:

  • On-site role based in Longmont, CO
  • Work performed in cleanroom, lab, and manufacturing environments
  • Requires standing, walking, bending, and working near production equipment
  • Occasional lifting within safety guidelines
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required
