Express Employment Professionals of Lakewood is seeking a skilled Electrical/Control Panel Builder to support the production of precision equipment, including environmental test chambers and related systems. This role is ideal for someone with strong mechanical aptitude who enjoys hands-on assembly, wiring, troubleshooting, and building custom technical machinery.

Primary Responsibilities

• Review and interpret orders, prints, blueprints, and manuals for accuracy.
• Fit and assemble components using hand and power tools.
• Lay out hole locations; drill and tap holes for assembly.
• Install electrical components, wiring, and build electrical panels to specification.
• Install piping, fixtures, air, and water service connections.
• Verify alignment, tolerances, and clearances of moving parts.
• Test completed machines to ensure proper operation and compliance with customer specifications.
• Maintain inventory of component parts.
• Communicate technical assistance to customers when needed.
• Operate machinery such as lathes, mills, drill presses, and saws to fabricate parts.
• Perform routine equipment maintenance.
• Keep work areas clean and organized.
• Document time and materials for jobs.
• Follow all company safety policies and contribute to ongoing process improvement.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong mechanical background in machine building.
• Troubleshooting skills—ability to identify issues and determine corrective action.
• Ability to read and follow blueprints, drawings, and electrical schematics.
• Ability to accurately use calipers, tape measures, gauges, and other measuring tools.
• Proficiency with basic hand tools and power tools.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and learn through hands-on instruction.
• Familiarity with ASTM specifications is a plus.
• Strong, dependable work ethic and consistent attendance.
• Education: Some college or a technical degree preferred (Associates in a technical field ideal).
• Experience: 1–3 years of manufacturing experience.

Working Conditions

• Standard manufacturing environment.
• Safety-toe footwear and eye protection required; hearing protection may be needed for certain tasks.
• Respirators may be required for specific duties.
