Maintenance Technician | $28/hr+ BOE | 1st Shift

A metal fabrication facility who services a variety of markets is looking for an experienced Building and Machine Maintenance Technician to join their team! The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude, extensive knowledge of industrial equipment, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. 

 

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on fabrication equipment, including lasers, presses, saws, welders, CNC machinery, and other mechanical systems.
• Maintain facility systems such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, compressors, and general building structures.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues and implement effective solutions.
• Conduct routine inspections to identify potential equipment failures or safety concerns.
• Coordinate and document all maintenance activities, including work orders, parts used, and completed repairs.
• Assist in equipment installations, relocations, and upgrades as needed.
• Work with outside vendors and contractors when specialized services are required.
• Follow all safety protocols and ensure compliance with company policies and OSHA regulations.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• 3+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment 
• Prior experience in a metal fabrication facility
• Strong knowledge of industrial equipment repair, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics.
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., work at heights, and perform physical tasks as needed.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certifications preferred.
• Basic welding and fabrication skills a plus.

Work Environment/Schedule

• 1st shift - 7:00AM-3:00PM
• Location: Allegan, MI
• Clean, well-lit, and organized facility
