Salary: $16.00/HR + $1.50 Premium

Sanitation Job Summary: A local Food Manufacturer in Grand Rapids, MI, is looking for an sanitation member to add to their team. Their corn chips are crafted with stone-ground, non-GMO. 

 

Sanitation Responsibilities.

• Obtain work schedule and daily production paperwork and prepare for operations
• Report to assigned work station and ensure all necessary tools, equipment, supplies and materials are available in staging areas
• Put on all required PPE and safety gear and perform a safety check on all equipment
• Complete cry clean, wet clean, COP, CIP and allergen clean tasks in (packaging, processing and production areas)
• LOTO production equipment, cover electrical equipment with plastic and wrap as needed
• Collect waste and other material from floor with squeegee, shovel, broom, dustpan and place into trash barrels
• Disassemble production equipment, conveyors, mixers, filler, hoppers, and other machinery and remove guards as required
• Manually pull, scrap, wipe shovel and dump waste from equipment and place waste materials in required areas
• Rinse  conveyors, mixers, filler, hoppers, and other machinery with pressure water hose. Obtain chemicals from storage area and fill with prepared former, manually apply chemicals to machinery, tools and other equipment
• Scrub machinery, tools and equipment with brushes and rinse with pressure water hose and apply sanitizer as many times as needed/ required
• Re-assemble packaging equipment, leave processing equipment unassembled after sanitizing. Preform special projects as needed or required by supervisor

Schedule & Pay:

• 3rd shift 10:00pm – 6:30am Monday-Friday; overtime as needed and rarely some Saturdays
• $16.00/HR + 1.50 Shift Premium

 Sanitation Qualifications:

• Must have 1-2 years of experience in food processing/Sanitation
• Knows what GMP & SQF quality standards
• High School or GED
• Able to lift 50 lbs
• Read, write and effectively communicate in English 
• Basic Math/ Calculations 
• Lock out/ Tag Out
