Farm Equipment Mechanic
Located in South Dayton, NY
Salary: $20/hr and up BOE
. This position is offered at our dairy facility in South Dayton, NY. The farm has a large fleet of trucks, tractors, trailers, and automobiles that require daily/weekly/monthly maintenance. Position is operated out of our on site shop. We are looking for a candidate who is self motivated, willing to learn, and has the desire to grow with us as our operation expands.
Competitive pay based on experience.
- Knowledge, Skills, & Required Abilities
- Ability to complete daily/weekly/monthly repairs and maintenance, oil changes, tire changes, etc.
- Proficient knowledge of diesel engines, fuel systems, hydraulics, electrical, and agricultural implements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work as a team
- Time management skills and organization
- Knowledge of precision agriculture technology is a plus
- Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Basic equipment operation and maintenance abilities
Job Description
Routine maintenance of farm equipment. This includes tractors, trucks, tillage equipment, etc. Also assisting with other job functions within capability as required. Candidate would possess appropriate time management skills and be able to assist a second on-site mechanic as needed.
