Express Employment Professionals are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Weed Control Technician to assist with noxious weed management across Southwest Montana. This position involves applying herbicides, operating application equipment, maintaining accurate records, and working outdoors in varying terrain and weather conditions.

This role may require flexible scheduling, including early mornings, extended hours, or stand-by status depending on weather and operational needs.

Job Duties

• Apply herbicides to designated areas to control noxious weeds
• Mix and prepare herbicides according to labeled specifications and safety guidelines
• Evaluate wind direction and speed prior to and during spray operations
• Identify, document, and map weed locations, treated areas, and future treatment needs
• Assist with recording services provided to property owners, including scope of spraying and applicable fees
• Operate vehicles and spraying equipment safely and responsibly
• Work cooperatively with assigned personnel, other departments, agencies, and the public
• Comply with all safety, environmental, and operational procedures

Qualifications & Requirements

• Have a 40 hour Hazwhopper training certificate or ability to obtain one
• Ability to work effectively with coworkers, agencies, and the public
• Physically able to walk, bend, reach, push, pull, stoop, squat, and lift up to 40 lbs for 6 hours or more per day, sometimes in rough or uneven terrain
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Ability to drive a manual transmission vehicle
• Willingness to work unconventional hours, including call-backs or stand-by status due to weather
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen
