CNC Mill Machinist

Schedule:
Days: Monday - Thursday -6:00 am - 3:00 pm - Friday - 6:00 am - 12:30 pm
Afternoons: Monday - Thursday - 3:00 pm - 12:00 am - Friday 12:30 pm - 7:00 pm
Express Employment Professionals is recruiting for a CNC Mill Machinist on behalf of a well-established manufacturer in Guelph
Responsibilities
- Operate CNC milling machines to produce precision parts from technical drawings
- Set up and adjust tooling, fixtures, and machine parameters
- Inspect initial parts and make adjustments to ensure quality standards
- Monitor machining processes and make real-time corrections
- Interpret complex drawings and use precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges)
- Maintain machine calibration and troubleshoot equipment issues
- Follow safety and quality standards throughout production
- Collaborate with engineers and team members to improve efficiency and reduce downtime
- Keep accurate records (setup sheets, production logs, program updates, quality data)
- Perform basic machine maintenance according to maintenance programs
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and using precision measurement tools
- Familiarity with Fanuc, Mazak, Haas, or similar CNC controls
- Experience with both custom, prototype and short-run to long-run production
- Strong understanding of machining principles, materials, and tooling
- Skilled in the use of precision measuring tools (calipers, indicators, micrometers, height gauges)
- 5+ years of hands-on CNC mill experience, including full setup and production
- Experience working with tight tolerances in a manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with G-code and CNC program editing is preferred
