Schedule:
Days: Monday - Thursday -6:00 am - 3:00 pm - Friday - 6:00 am - 12:30 pm
Afternoons: Monday - Thursday - 3:00 pm - 12:00 am - Friday 12:30 pm - 7:00 pm
Express Employment Professionals is recruiting for a CNC Lathe Machinist on behalf of a well-established manufacturer in Guelph
Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate CNC lathes to produce precision parts from technical drawings
- Select, install, and adjust tooling, fixtures, and machine settings
- Inspect initial parts and make adjustments to ensure quality standards
- Monitor machining processes and make real-time corrections
- Read and interpret complex blueprints and use precision measuring tools
- Maintain machine calibration and troubleshoot equipment issues
- Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
- Collaborate with engineers and production teams to improve efficiency
- Keep accurate records of setups, production, and quality data
- Perform basic machine maintenance
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and using precision measurement tools
- Strong understanding of machining principles, materials, and tooling
- Familiarity with Fanuc, Mazak, Haas, or similar CNC controls
- Strong analytical skills and a high attention to detail and accuracy
- 5+ years of hands-on CNC lathe experience, including full setup and production
- Familiarity with G-code and CNC program editing is preferred
- Experience with both custom, prototype and short-run to long-run production
- Skilled in the use of precision measuring tools (calipers, indicators, micrometers, height gauges)
