Diesel Mechanic (A & B Techs)– Up to $5,000 Sign-On Bonus

Our client, a leading provider in their industry, is seeking experienced A- and B-Level Diesel Technicians to join their team as a in Somers, NY. Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, suspensions, brakes, and air brake systems.
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire service, alignment, and Shocks & Struts replacement to ensure equipment longevity.
- Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot electrical systems, HVAC units, and complex mechanical components.
- Fabricate parts or modifications using hand tools, power tools, welding, and soldering techniques as needed.
- Operate heavy machinery including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers for inspection or repair purposes.
- Maintain detailed service records and documentation for all repairs performed.
- Assist in the assembly and disassembly of heavy equipment components while adhering to safety standards.
- Identify opportunities for preventative maintenance to reduce downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
Qualifications:
- A-Level Diesel Technicians: High school diploma or GED equivalent, plus 4 years of related equipment maintenance and repair experience.
- B-Level Diesel Technicians: High school diploma or GED equivalent, plus 2+ years of related equipment maintenance and repair experience.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Strong mechanical knowledge across diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, and HVAC units.
- Proficiency in reading schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting complex systems.
- Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques including welding and soldering.
- Familiarity with excavator, crane, forklift operation, and other industrial machinery.
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance procedures such as brake repair, shocks & struts replacement, tire service, and wheel alignment.
- Experience working with Caterpillar or similar heavy machinery brands preferred.
