Our Metairie office is seeking a highly skilled CNC Lathe Machinist for a precision manufacturing facility in Belle Chasse, LA. We are looking for a technical expert capable of taking a project from a blueprint to a finished masterpiece.
Pay Rate: $22.00/Hour and up (Depending on Experience)
Location: Belle Chasse, LA
Status: Full-Time / Long-Term
Note: The client will perform independent reference checks for all qualified candidates.
Programming: Program mills and lathes using Mastercam and Long Hand G-Code. Calculate requirements using basic math, geometry, and trigonometry.
Setup & Operation: Set up machines by installing/adjusting three- and four-jaw chucks, tools, collets, bushings, and stock pushers. Indicate vices and tram heads.
Technical Interpretation: Study work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) to plan machining parameters.
Precision Machining: Maintain specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting (turning, facing, knurling, and thread chasing).
Quality Assurance: Verify settings by measuring first-run parts and sample workpieces; detect malfunctions and troubleshoot processes in real-time.
Maintenance: Perform preventive maintenance on equipment according to manufacturer instructions; sharpen and replace worn tools.
Technical Expertise: Proven experience with CNC programming, controls, instrumentation, and tooling.
Software: Proficiency in Mastercam and manual G-Code entry.
Functional Skills: Strong verbal communication, coordination, and judgment.
Attention to Detail: Extreme focus on precision and adhering to international quality standards.
Safety Mindset: Strict adherence to safety procedures and regulations.
Ability to load feed mechanisms by lifting stock into position.
Manual dexterity to adjust fine machine settings and handle precision measuring tools.
