General Labor - 1st shift

Salary: $18.92+/hr
We are currently seeking General Production Laborers for our client located in Monticello. We have openings on 1st and 2nd shift. These are great evaluation - hire openings with a client that offers full benefits upon hire, and growth opportunities!
This position is responsible for operating all equipment on a packaging line and instruct general laborers efficiencies in line. Ensuring forms are clean, filled appropriately and accurate documentation. Orchestrating the flow of Alpma machines, brine system and stagging and following the production schedule. This position requires leadership skills with strict adherence to GMP, sanitation, safety, timekeeping and personal conduct rules.
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee and maintain operation of designated packaging line including set up, change over and take down of equipment
- Review packaging schedule to understand what is needed for set up of the line each day
- Communicate with respect to safety of production along with meeting customer specifications
- Operation of and certification for forklift and pallet jack operation
- Strict adherence to GMPs; Keep area clean
- Strict adherence to Safety/PPE protocols and procedures; reporting unsafe conditions to plant management
- Accurate recordkeeping and specific paperwork
- Assist in Brine and Panela form cleaning and handling
- Monitor Metal Detector checks and verifications
- Verify product specifications such as code dates, labels etc.
- Sanitize equipment, tools, presses and forms during production hours
- Follow appropriate chemical usages for designated cleaning equipment
- Document vats to forms, record keeping of times such as brine time
- Monitor brine system such as salt, pH and temperature
All other assigned tasks and projects
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Food production experience preferred, but not required
- Strong attention to detail and able to follow SOPs and instructions
- Good teamwork skills and initiative
Physical Requirements:
- Moderately strenuous work involving standing, walking with frequent bending, twisting, pushing and squatting; Repetitive lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Occasionally kneeling to inspect and clean equipment and use of ladders
- Fast-paced clean environment; frequently cool, wet, and moderate noise along with working with chemicals
Schedule:
- 1st shift: Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm, current mandatory OT on Saturday
- 2nd shift: Monday-Friday, 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM, current mandatory OT on Saturday
Pay: $18.92 - $19.92+/hr. depending on shift and experience. Overtime opportunities weekly!
