Assists HR Manager with internal and external HR-related inquiries and requests. Assists with the recruitment to hiring process, including identifying candidates, interviewing, hiring & onboarding. Performs payroll and human resource functions while maintaining confidentiality of all payroll, compensation, and benefit information. Maintains personnel, payroll and training files and records.

Essential Functions

  • Advertising & job posting (internal & external), including coordination with Employment Agencies, recruiting, screening, interviewing, background & drug checks, hiring (including I-9 and e-verify), and onboarding (including new employee information and W-4s)
  • Assists with annual employee appraisal process, and periodic wage increases.
  • Data entry of timesheets and processes bi-weekly payroll using ADP Software system, including calculation of retro pay, bonuses, commissions, and other manual pay (i.e., termination) checks,
  • Processes payroll benefits: medical (HSA/PPO), dental, life, voluntary life, 401(k), payroll garnishments, child support orders, etc. Manage all benefit changes with insurance providers and other third-party benefits providers (i.e., Qualifying Events).
  • Coordinates employee terminations including COBRA administration.
  • Tracks vacation (PTO) and sick leave.
  • Ensures compliance with all federal (including FICA, Medicare) and state payroll withholdings.
  • Assists with 401(k) information for funding analysis and annual audits, as well as payroll information for annual workers compensation premiums audits.
  • Quarterly payroll filings and annual filings including preparation of Form W-2s via payroll vendor.
  • Records payroll accounting entries, as well as reconciles monthly G L accounts related to payroll and benefits. Other routine month end reconciliations and closing functions.
  • Cross-trained and able to perform other accounting functions.

Education & Experience

  • Associates Degree in Accounting/Finance (Bachelor's Degree is a plus).
  • 3+ years' experience i n payroll & H R functions (experience with ADP is a plus).
  • Certified Payroll Professional, PHR, o r SHRM-CP is preferred.

This is a full time position Monday-Friday with competitive wage and benefit package.
