Express Employment of West Seneca has partnered with a fabrication company in the Lancaster area to fill an immediate need for a full-time Filling Machine Operator. As the Filling Machine Operator you will are responsible for the precise dispensing of products—ranging from liquids and gels to powders and granules—into containers like bottles, cans, jars, and pouches. 

 

 

Core Responsibilities

• Equipment Setup & Operation: Set up, calibrate, and start filling machines according to specific work orders and product requirements.
• Production Monitoring: Continually monitor the production line for equipment malfunctions, product defects, or packaging issues like jams and misfills.
• Quality Control: Conduct frequent inspections, including checking fill volumes, weights, and seal integrity to ensure products meet regulatory and company standards.
• Sanitation: Sterilize and sanitize filling equipment between production runs to prevent cross-contamination.
• Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and minor technical adjustments to optimize machine performance and minimize downtime.
• Documentation: Maintain detailed logs of production data, including batch numbers, output quantities, and quality check results. 

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Physical Stamina: Capability to stand for long shifts (8–12 hours) and lift heavy materials, often up to 50 lbs.
• Technical Aptitude: Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills and the ability to read technical manuals or blueprints.
• Precision: High attention to detail for monitoring fill levels and identifying small defects.
• Compliance Knowledge: Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and, in food roles, FDA food safety standards.
• Education: A high school diploma or GED is typically required; prior manufacturing experience is highly preferred
