Sanitation Technician

About the Role

We are seeking a dependable and detail‑oriented Sanitation Technician to ensure our production areas and equipment meet the highest standards of cleanliness, food safety, and regulatory compliance. This role is essential to maintaining safe operations, supporting production schedules, and upholding HACCP, SQF, GMP, allergen, and organic requirements.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Clean and sanitize all processing equipment and production areas

  • Perform pre‑operational sanitation and collect swab samples for internal testing

  • Monitor equipment during sanitation and report any issues or abnormalities

  • Ensure compliance with HACCP, SQF, GMP, allergen, and organic standards

  • Support production readiness by completing sanitation tasks efficiently and thoroughly

 

Expected Results

  • Production areas and equipment consistently meet sanitation and food safety standards

  • All regulatory and internal compliance requirements are upheld

  • Equipment or cleanliness issues are promptly identified and reported

  • Sanitation processes support smooth and timely production schedules

 

Skills Required

  • Strong attention to detail for thorough cleaning and inspections

  • Effective time‑management to complete sanitation tasks efficiently

  • Problem‑solving skills to identify and report issues

  • Clear communication with leads, operators, and team members

 

Experience Required

  • Prior experience in sanitation or food production environments

  • Familiarity with HACCP, SQF, GMP, allergen, and organic compliance

  • Experience with equipment cleaning, monitoring, and sanitation procedures

  • Basic safety and hygiene knowledge

 

Qualities Required

  • Reliability and accountability in maintaining high sanitation standards

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Ability to follow directions and work effectively in teams

  • Willingness to work irregular or extended hours during peak production periods

 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout full shifts

  • Lift and maneuver cleaning tools, hoses, and sanitation supplies

  • Work in wet and potentially cold production environments

  • Perform physically demanding sanitation tasks for extended periods
