Our client in Des Moines, IA is looking for an Apartment Maintenance Technician!

Position Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Apartment Maintenance Technician to maintain and repair residential properties. This role is responsible for ensuring apartments are safe, functional, and move-in ready by completing work orders, preventative maintenance, and general repairs. The ideal candidate is hands-on, customer-service oriented, and experienced in a variety of maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities:
• Complete work orders for repairs in a timely manner (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, etc.)
• Perform preventative maintenance on apartment units and property systems
• Prepare units for new tenants (turnovers), including repairs, painting, and cleaning
• Troubleshoot and repair appliances, fixtures, and building systems
• Maintain common areas, grounds, and exterior of the property
• Respond to emergency maintenance requests as needed
• Communicate professionally with residents and property management
• Ensure all work complies with safety standards and regulations

Qualifications:
• Previous apartment maintenance or general maintenance experience preferred
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to use hand and power tools
• Good customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Valid driver’s license required

Hours:
Full-time; may include on-call rotation for emergency maintenance

Pay:
$18.00–$26.00/hour DOE
