Electrical Switchboard Electrician

Salary: $18.00 + DOE

Our client in Des Moines, IA is looking for a Switchboard Electrician!

Position Summary:
The Switchboard Electrician will report to the Wiring Foreman and play a key role in production and assembly. This individual will perform duties consistent with a Utility Man and Journeyman, contributing to the wiring and assembly of electrical power products. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, experienced in panel wiring, and comfortable working in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:
• Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and layout prints
• Operate shop tools and equipment safely and effectively
• Perform all phases of panel wiring, including bunch, bundle, gutter, and form wiring
• Install and wire instruments using sketches, prints, or schematics
• Install various types of nameplates
• Identify and report errors or discrepancies in prints, diagrams, or schematics
• Maintain quality standards and follow all safety procedures
• Support team members and assist in other production tasks as needed

Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to read and use a tape measure
• Experience using hand and power tools
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Hours:
Full-time; typical first shift hours with potential overtime

Pay:
$18.00–$28.00/hour DOE

Physical Requirements:
• Ability to continuously speak, hear, and see (close, distance, and depth perception)
• Frequent standing, crouching, stooping, kneeling, reaching, climbing, and handling
• Regularly lift/move up to 40 lbs independently
• Occasionally lift/move 50–100 lbs with assistance
• Ability to work in environments with loud noises, drilling, cutting, and typical manufacturing hazards
