We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Automotive Payroll Clerk to join our dynamic team.

Duties
- Process payroll for automotive staff using various payroll systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, or UltiPro, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Enter and verify data related to hours worked, overtime, bonuses, and deductions with precision.
- Reconcile payroll accounts through general ledger accounting practices, including journal entries and account reconciliation.
- Manage benefits administration related to payroll, including deductions for insurance, retirement plans, and other employee benefits.
- Maintain detailed records of payroll transactions, tax filings, and compliance documentation.
- Collaborate with human resources to ensure proper classification of employees and adherence to labor laws.
- Assist with month-end closing activities by preparing reports on payroll expenses and analyzing discrepancies.
- Support governmental reporting requirements such as tax filings and statutory deductions.
- Utilize accounting software like QuickBooks or similar platforms to streamline data entry and reporting processes.
- Perform accounts payable functions related to vendor payments for payroll services and related expenses.
Requirements
- Proven experience in payroll management within the automotive industry or similar sectors involving complex compensation structures.
- Proficiency with payroll systems including Workday, ADP, Paychex, Kronos, or UltiPro.
- Strong knowledge of accounting software such as QuickBooks or comparable financial management tools.
- Familiarity with corporate accounting principles, including double entry bookkeeping, general ledger reconciliation, debits & credits, and journal entries.
- Understanding of human resources processes related to benefits administration and employee data management.
- Knowledge of tax regulations relevant to payroll processing and governmental reporting requirements.
- Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy; experience with 10 key typing is preferred.
- Analytical skills necessary for account reconciliation and financial analysis.
- Ability to adapt quickly to new software platforms such as Ceridian or PeopleSoft.
