Plastic Fabricator

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Plastic Fabricator for a client in the Rochester area!

This role is responsible for cutting, shaping, assembling, and finishing plastic materials according to specifications and blueprints. The ideal candidate has hands-on fabrication experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work with a variety of plastic materials and tools in a production or custom fabrication environment.

Key Responsibilities

Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders
Measure, cut, shape, and assemble plastic components using hand and power tools
Perform bonding, welding, and finishing of plastic materials (e.g., acrylic, PVC, polycarbonate)
Operate fabrication equipment such as saws, routers, heat benders, and polishers
Drill, tap, and machine plastic parts to precise specifications
Inspect finished products to ensure quality and accuracy
Maintain proper material handling and storage procedures
Troubleshoot fabrication issues and adjust processes as needed
Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment
Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED (technical training preferred)
1–3+ years of fabrication experience (plastic, woodworking, or similar materials)
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
Experience using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment
Strong attention to detail and quality control
Basic math and measuring skills
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with plastic welding or solvent bonding
Familiarity with CNC routers or machining equipment
Experience working with acrylic, PVC, HDPE, or similar materials
Knowledge of polishing and finishing techniques

Work Environment

Manufacturing or fabrication shop environment
Exposure to noise, dust, and fabrication materials
Required use of PPE (safety glasses, gloves, etc.)
