Accounting Manager

Our client, in Des Moines, IA is looking for an Accounting Manager!

Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee daily accounting operations and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting. This role is responsible for managing financial processes, supervising accounting staff, and supporting strategic financial decisions. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and has strong leadership experience in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee daily accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Manage the month-end and year-end close processes
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies
• Monitor cash flow, budgets, and financial forecasts
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff
• Coordinate with external auditors and support audit processes
• Analyze financial data and provide insights to leadership
• Implement and improve accounting systems and processes

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
• 5+ years of accounting experience; leadership experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
• Experience with accounting software and ERP systems
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities
• CPA or CMA certification is a plus

Hours:
Full-time; standard business hours with occasional overtime as needed

Pay:
$50,00 - $55,000
