Sheet Metal Welder / Fabricator

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Welder/Fabricator fora client in the Rochester NY area!

This role is responsible for fabricating, assembling, and welding sheet metal components according to specifications and blueprints. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, experience with various welding techniques, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders
Fabricate and assemble sheet metal components using hand and power tools
Perform welding (MIG, TIG, or Stick) on various metals including steel, stainless steel, and aluminum
Measure, cut, bend, and shape metal materials to precise specifications
Inspect finished products to ensure quality standards are met
Operate fabrication equipment such as press brakes, shears, rollers, and saws
Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with OSHA standards
Troubleshoot fabrication issues and make necessary adjustments
Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED (technical training or certification preferred)
2+ years of experience in sheet metal fabrication and/or welding
Proficiency in MIG and/or TIG welding (certifications a plus)
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
Experience with fabrication tools and machinery
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods

Preferred Qualifications

Welding certification (AWS or equivalent)
Experience in a manufacturing or production environment
Familiarity with precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.)

Work Environment

Industrial/manufacturing setting
Exposure to heat, noise, and metal materials
Required use of PPE (gloves, helmet, safety glasses, etc.)
