Our client, Area Diesel in Pleasant Hill, IA is looking for a Diesel Mechanic!

Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join a growing team specializing in diesel engine repair and maintenance. This role is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of diesel-powered vehicles and equipment. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and experienced in troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities:
• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, including trucks and heavy equipment
• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, brake service, and inspections
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic tools
• Complete engine overhauls and component replacements as needed
• Ensure all work is completed safely and efficiently
• Maintain accurate service records and documentation
• Communicate findings and repair recommendations to team and customers
• Keep work area clean and organized

Qualifications:
• Previous diesel mechanic experience required
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems
• Ability to use diagnostic tools and equipment
• Welding or fabrication experience is a plus
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in a shop environment
• Valid driver’s license required; CDL is a plus

Hours:
Full-time; typical daytime hours with possible overtime

Pay:
$20.00–$30.00/hour DOE
