Position: Steam Cleaning Aide

Location: Columbus, Ohio

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate industrial steam cleaning equipment safely and efficiently
• Carefully move furniture and room contents to prepare areas for thorough carpet cleaning
• Transport heavy cleaning machinery between rooms and floors
• Carefully navigate hotel hallways and guest rooms while maintaining professional demeanor
• Ensure all areas are prepared and restored to original configuration after cleaning
• Follow safety protocols when handling cleaning equipment and chemicals
• Maintain clean and organized equipment storage areas
• Assist senior cleaning staff with complex cleaning projects
• Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs immediately

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and move furniture weighing up to 75 pounds
• Stand and move continuously during work shift
• Comfortable working in various temperatures and humidity levels
• Capable of walking multiple flights of stairs and pushing heavy equipment
• Good hand-eye coordination for equipment operation

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous cleaning or hospitality experience helpful but not necessary. Will train
• Basic mechanical aptitude for equipment maintenance
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills

• Commercial steam cleaning machines
• Industrial carpet cleaning equipment
• Basic hand tools and moving equipment
