1st General Laborer

Located in Elk Grove village, IL

Salary: $20+

A construction company is seeking a dependable and hardworking 2nd Shift General Laborer to support its production team.

Schedule:

2nd Shift -3:00PM -11:30PM

Temporary Position 

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist operators at coil loading and packaging ends of the production line

• Build pallets and shipping containers using hand and power tools

• Band and palletize metal coils and/or metal sheets; apply proper labels and tags

• Perform quality checks using measuring tools to ensure correct lengths, widths, and weights

• Detect and report faulty operations or defective materials to supervisors

• Move or carry parts, equipment, or materials as needed

• Wrap and unwrap materials in preparation for shipment or processing

• Operate a sit-down forklift (preferred but not required)

• Meet production targets while following all company safety guidelines
  
  

 

Qualifications:

• Prior experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment 

• Forklift (sit-down) experience is a plus, but not required

• Ability to work in a team and follow instructions precisely

• Basic ability to read and understand production orders and measurement tools

• Ability to stand, twist, bend, squat, and lift continuously during the shift

• Repetitively lift large sheets of metal (with team assistance)

• Lift up to 50 lbs independently
