Express Employment Professionals is working with our client to hire an experienced Structural Steel Welder with mandatory proficiency in Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW).  This hire will fabricate and assemble structural steel components while collaborating with team members to meet production goals and maintain high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform structural welding using Flux Core (FCAW) (required)
• Weld and fabricate structural components, including columns, beams, angle beams, frames, and assemblies
• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and welding symbols
• Set up and operate welding equipment safely and efficiently
• Inspect welds for accuracy, strength, and overall quality
• Grind, clean, and prepare metal surfaces before and after welding
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment
• Collaborate with fitters, fabricators, and supervisors to meet production deadlines

Requirements

• Proven experience as a structural steel welder
• Mandatory proficiency in Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW)
• Ability to weld a variety of structural components (columns, beams, frames, assemblies, etc.)
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Minimum 3 years of welding experience (required)

Preferred Qualifications

• Welding certification (AWS or equivalent)
• Experience with additional welding processes (MIG, Stick, TIG)
• Background in structural steel fabrication shops or construction environments
• Valid driver’s license

Work Environment

• Shop and/or field-based work
• Exposure to heat, noise, and heavy equipment
• May require lifting heavy materials and working at heights
