About the Role:
A growing manufacturing company in the Sycamore area is seeking a Sorting Technician to support quality inspection and sorting operations. This role is responsible for setting up and operating inspection equipment, ensuring product quality, and supporting team training within the department.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up, operate, and troubleshoot inspection equipment (LED, laser, electronic sorters)
• Read and interpret blueprints, customer drawings, and work orders
• Use precision measuring instruments to verify product quality
• Perform and assist with hand sorting as needed
• Train team members on inspection equipment and sorting processes
• Maintain accurate records and support inventory processes
• Help manage workflow, prioritize jobs, and communicate overtime needs
• Assist with analyzing rejected product and determining next steps
• Maintain a clean and organized work area

Qualifications:

• Experience with machine setup and production runs
• Strong blueprint reading skills
• Mechanical troubleshooting experience
• Familiarity with industrial automation equipment
• Basic shop math skills
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Equipment & Technology:

• Vision systems (Keyence or similar)
• Quality control software
• Precision measuring tools

Work Environment:

• Manufacturing setting with moving machinery, noise, and exposure to oil/smoke
• Use of inspection equipment, forklifts, and material handling tools

Physical Requirements:

• Lift up to 40 lbs regularly
• Stand for most of the shift
• Frequent walking, bending, and reaching
